Your First Scan: A 30-Second Walkthrough
ScanCardPro is built so your very first scan feels effortless. If you have a business card in hand and a phone or laptop nearby, you are about 30 seconds away from a clean, digital contact in your Contact Book. Here is exactly how it goes.
Step 1: Sign in
Open ScanCardPro and sign in with Google. There is nothing to download and no separate password to remember.
Step 2: Open the scanner
From your dashboard, tap Scanner. On a phone, your camera opens right away. On a laptop, you can use your webcam or upload a photo you already took. Either works — the result is identical.
Step 3: Capture the card
Line the business card up inside the frame and hold steady for a moment. Good lighting and a flat, uncluttered background give the cleanest read. When the card is in focus, capture it. You do not need a perfect studio shot — the OCR engine is designed to handle real-world cards, including glossy finishes and logos.
Step 4: Review the details
Within a second or two, ScanCardPro reads the card and fills in the fields it recognizes:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Company
- Job title
- Connect or rename your Google Sheet so contacts land exactly where you want them.
- Add categories to group contacts by event, client, or priority.
- Turn on intro emails so a friendly follow-up goes out the moment you scan.
Give it a quick glance. If a field needs a small correction, tap it and fix it before saving. This is the only manual step, and it usually takes just a few seconds.
Step 5: Save and sync
Hit Save. That is it — the contact is saved to your Contact Book, where you can sort, filter, and find it later. Your first contact is now digital, organized, and ready for follow-up.
What to do next
