Connecting Your Google Sheet

The best part of ScanCardPro is that your contacts live in a real Google Sheet you own — not locked inside an app. You do not have to build or format that spreadsheet yourself. When you connect Google, we handle the setup for you. Here is what happens and how to stay in control of it.

Step 1: Sign in with Google

When you sign in with Google and approve access to Google Sheets, ScanCardPro gets permission to create and update a spreadsheet on your behalf. We only touch the sheet we create for your contacts — your other files are never accessed.

Step 2: We create your contact sheet automatically

On your first scan, ScanCardPro creates a dedicated spreadsheet in your Google Drive and formats it with proper column headers:

    • Name
    • Email
    • Phone
    • Company
    • Job title
    • Date scanned

Every card you scan is appended as a new row, so the sheet grows into a clean, searchable contact list without any manual formatting.

Step 3: Find and open your sheet

Your contact sheet lives in your own Google Drive, so you can open it any time — even without ScanCardPro. From the dashboard you will find a direct link to it. Bookmark that link if you refer to your contacts often.

Step 4: Keep the headers intact

ScanCardPro relies on the header row to know which column each field belongs in. You are welcome to add your own extra columns (notes, deal size, follow-up date) to the right of ours — just avoid renaming or reordering the columns we created, or new scans may land in the wrong place. If that ever happens, see Fixing Column Mapping Issues.

Reconnecting or switching accounts

If you ever revoke access in your Google account settings, simply sign in again and re-approve the Google Sheets permission to restore syncing. Switching to a different Google account will connect a fresh sheet under that account — your original sheet stays safely in the first account.

Why Google Sheets?

Because it is portable, familiar, and yours. You can filter by company, sort by date, share a tab with a teammate, or feed the data into a mail merge — all with tools you already know. ScanCardPro just keeps that sheet filled in for you.
