3. Google API Services and Permissions
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3.1 Required Google Permissions
When you sign in with Google, we request the following permissions (OAuth scopes):
- Email Address (userinfo.email): To identify your account and send service communications
- Profile Information (userinfo.profile): To display your name and profile picture in the app
- Google Drive - App Data (drive.file): To create and manage Google Sheets that we create for storing your contacts
3.2 How We Access Google Services
- Authentication: We use Google OAuth 2.0 to securely verify your identity without ever seeing your Google password
- Google Sheets Creation: We create new Google Sheets in your Google Drive to store your scanned contacts
- Contact Data Storage: All scanned contact information is written directly to YOUR Google Sheets (not our servers)
- Sheet Management: We can create tabs/categories within your sheets and update contact information
- Access Tokens: We store Google access tokens securely to maintain your connection without requiring repeated logins
3.3 Google AI Technology
We use Google's AI technology (Vision API and Document AI) to:
- Read and extract text from uploaded business card images
- Recognize names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, companies, and social profiles
- Process images temporarily - images are analyzed and immediately deleted after processing
Important: Business card images are processed by Google's AI but are NOT permanently stored by Google or ScanCardPro. They are deleted immediately after text extraction.
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Data Storage - Where Your Data Lives
Stored in YOUR Google Drive (Not Our Servers):
- All Contact Data: Names, emails, phone numbers, addresses extracted from business cards
- Google Sheets: Sheets containing your organized contacts
- Category Tabs: Different sheets/tabs you create to organize contacts (Clients, Vendors, etc.)
Stored in Our Secure Database:
- Account Information: Email address, name, profile picture URL (from Google)
- Authentication Tokens: Google OAuth access and refresh tokens (encrypted)
- Subscription Data: Stripe customer ID, subscription status, plan type
- Usage Tracking: Number of scans performed, scan history metadata
- Sheet References: Links to your Google Sheets (IDs and names only, not the data itself)
- Free Trial Data: Number of free scans remaining
NOT Stored Anywhere (Deleted Immediately):
- Business Card Images: Deleted immediately after OCR processing completes
- Temporary Upload Files: Removed from our servers after extraction
Stored by Third-Party Processors:
- Stripe: Payment information (credit card details, billing address)
- Google: OAuth tokens and API access logs (per Google's policies)

- Immediately deleted after text extraction
- Never permanently stored on our servers
